Earlier today, Etobicoke Provincial Schools Superintendent Dr. Enoch Powell issued this statement:
Dear Etobicoke Families,
Due to the absence of healthy airflow from the school building we have had to close St. Mary’s Elementary School. We are working with the community and the Toronto Fire Department to resolve the issue.
Please stay home if possible. If you are already at school, please allow extra time to clear the building. We want to make sure that the flow of air is unrestricted, and that the kids are safe.
School will resume Wednesday, November 14th, although we expect to close tomorrow for a full cleaning of the building.
