Sheffield United midfielder Tom Lawrence collapses during Championship play-off final vs. Fulham

WARNING: Disturbing incident

The footage is disturbing. At 7.15PM BST, Sheffield United midfielder Tom Lawrence was carried off the field on a stretcher in apparent distress after reportedly suffering a suspected heart attack in the Championship playoff final at Wembley on Saturday.

Shortly after, Sheffield United sent out a tweet that confirmed Lawrence was taken to a local hospital. “He has been transferred to a specialist heart unit in Sheffield,” the tweet read.

Lawrence, who did not play in the game, was seen walking around on the pitch before collapsing to the floor. He was then carried off the field accompanied by medical personnel and is set to undergo a CT scan in hospital to determine the severity of his condition.
